Detoxing the body can be hard going. But it doesn't always have to be hardship.
A homemade body scrub will slough off the dead skin of winter giving you instantly brighter skin, and a whole lot of feelgood.
A body scrub spa treatment will set you back around €70 and the retail version around €20, so it's important to know you can produce your own body scrubs at a fraction of the cost. Even better to know is that yours can be 100% natural as you don't need it to be filled with preservatives to sit on a shelf for years on end.
If you already have a Yogandha product on your at home then this scrub will cost you absolutely nothing and home-made fresh goodness for your skin is already within arms reach!
There are two main types of scrubs - sugar scrubs and salt glows. And we are guessing you already have either sugar or salt already in the house. Body scrubs work by removing a layer of dead skin and exposing a new layer of smoother, rejuvenated skin.
Salt glow is probably the most popular body treatment in spas, the purpose of it is to exfoliate and as it is mixed with oil it hydrates the skin too. Use the best quality salt you have in the house. (So called 'table' salt is really only good to use as a cleaning product)
- Sea salt- coarse and stimulating
2-step Yogandha Salt Glow Recipe
1. Pump around 10 pumps Yogandha detox or Yogandha Muscle soothe into a glass jar if you have one, or just a glass.
2. Add Sea Salt till the consistency feels right - about 2-3 teaspoons.
That's it! Rub into clean/damp skin in circular motions to buff away dead skin. Rinse off and combine with a yogic self-massage for extra wellbeing. You can store in a jar or tightly sealed box.
2-step Yogandha Sugar Scrub (..with one more step for the adventurous)
Sugar scrubs are a little more gentle but essentially they work the same way as a salt glow.
Follow the same process as above for the sugar scrub. and then
3. Add 1 or 2 capsules of Vitamin E
Vitamin E oil promotes healing and is an active ingredient in many beauty products. It is a strong antioxidant and prevents premature ageing so is a perfect addition for your body scrub. There already is Vitamin E in all of our oils - but this will give you an extra hit.
- Vitamin E capsules
Benefits of creating your own homemade body scrub:
