For a week now, I have been taking the (usually discarded) coffee granules from my french press and putting them into a jar and placing this jar in my shower, re-purposing the granules as a coffee scrub and adding the refreshing Yogandha Detox (genius! if i may say so myself). My morning shower is filled with the aromatic flavours of coffee and fresh lemongrass, what an effective easy way to kick start the day.
In this blog I am going to tell you how to make this very simple scrub, why you should make it and the benefits it will have for you.
Yogandha detox (I like to use this as it has a fresh scent that wakes me up in the morning)
mix the two!
I usually do two cups coffee to every 1/4 cup Yogandha detox
(for added exfoliation, brown cane sugar can be added)
Why make this?
It is good for the environment. By re using the coffee beans you are being kind to the earth also, Yogandha's packaging is pre-recycled and boxes are fully compostable.
It is 100% natural unlike exfoliating products you can by in the shops.
Friendly to your pocket...If you drink coffee, it costs you nothing to reuse and Yogandha detox can be used in the shower and bath as an alternative to shower gel and bath oils it can also be used as a moisturiser alternative, massage oil and Hair oil! So you save on buying all those products.
by incorporating caffeine into your skin care routine, you can reveal evenly toned, smooth skin all over your body.
It contains many elements which help our skin to look and feel amazing. It has the ability to mend broken skin, soothe irritation, and revitalise cells. Coffee contains a free radical scavenger which helps to neutralise reactions caused by oxidation, which are the primary cause for conditions such as acne and eczema. It is known to be a gentle exfoliant which improves circulation, breaking up fatty deposits which we all know as dreaded cellulite.
Some people use coffee body scrubs to combat the occurrence of varicose veins. The caffeine found in coffee scrubs typically increases blood flow and may reduce the appearance of cellulite. Even the action of applying the coffee scrub can help with these types of skin issues because squeezing and massaging the body helps to release toxins and fats held in the skin.
If you have sensitive skin, coffee scrub may help soothe it by tightening your blood vessels, temporarily but effectively relieving swelling and redness.
